Hull on the map

Hull, previously noted only as the birthplace of the late great Mick Ronson and Maureen Lipman, today progressed to the English Premier League. Reports on the telly have it that Hull is the biggest town in Europe never to have had a team in the national top flight of football and who am I to argue.

Otherwise tonight was Eurovision night - also known as guess where the 8, 10 and 12 points will go night. Few surprises ... including my choice finishing in mid-table mediocrity. The winning song was pants - pantser than most of the other pants finalists, with the exception of Bosnia-Herzegovina (the video doesn't do the true awfulness of the version in tonight's final justice), which was flat out the worst song I have ever heard/seen on telly, including those cringey talent show 'worst audition' compilation shows. Finland seems to have hit on a formula. Who did I vote for six times? Not telling.

Wales weren't in it -- I guess it was Israel.

I voted for Spain because it was a great attempt.
